REHABILITATING HUMAN’S BEHAVIOR TOWARDS NON-HUMAN THROUGH PERCEPTION OF COMFORT

  • architecture

Can discomfort be designed as a tool to recalibrate this relationship? Barber’s manifesto posits that embracing discomfort might provide an opportunity to rethink and redesign our spaces, fostering a sense of empathy and responsibility towards the environment. The project proposed here embodies this philosophy, offering a site-specific solution in Kemerburgaz, Istanbul.

This project aims to preserve Kemerburgaz’s unique identity by proposing a rehabilitation center that reimagines the concept of comfort. The center’s purposes twofold: to rehabilitate human behavior toward non-humans and to shift the perception of comfort from a purely human-centered ideal to a more balanced, inclusive understanding.
