Meeting Spot in Beşiktaş

NEW FORMS OF LIVING AND THE URBAN AS A SITE IN BESIKTAS 

 

Architectural design project of the 2^nd year studio proposes to be engaged with the question of the design of the new forms of living in Besiktaş. It aims to create a small liveable community, through exploring the relationships with the urban context and the tectonics via materiality. What does it mean to live? How can we design a house starting from the act of eating, resting, bathing, having fun or loving oneself? How do everyday objects define a way of inhabiting space and time? And finally, can we imagine objects intended for new habits of living, designing, and building? The proposal includes analysis of the site, explores its relationships with the urban context and proposes an architectural building program including a place of accommodation.
